To celebrate their arrival on the Facebook scene, Gerber Canada recently held a country-wide search to find their 2012 star. The online contest proved hugely popular with parents across the country, drawing almost 15,000 photo entries. After much deliberation, Gerber Canada is pleased to announce that 10-month-old Phillip has been crowned the winner!
Meet Phillip
Gerber Canada spoke to Phillip’s Mom to get to know him a little better. Not only is Phillip(or “Mr. Smiley” as they like to call him) playful and curious, he’s also a budding musician. Phillip’s parents, both guitar players, join in jam sessions with Phillip on his drum set. A great eater, he loves fruit and potatoes – but granny smith apples are at the bottom of his list.
The contest was open to all parents who “Liked” Gerber Canada on Facebook. They were eligible to enter their child, then share their entry with friends and family online to cast votes in support of their star. After July 1, 2012, a panel of Gerber Canada judges reviewed the ten entries with the most votes, assessing for expressiveness and consistency with the Gerber brand. Phillip, the lucky winner, was awarded a $2,000 RESP. The nine finalists were also winners and each received a Gerber gift basket.
