Nestlé Canada joins Skate Canada as National Sponsor

 

OTTAWA, ON:  As skaters, coaches and fans participate in the 2013 Canadian Tire National Figure Skating Championships (January 14 – 20) in Mississauga, Ontario,      Skate Canada is pleased to announce Nestlé Canada as the newest member of its national sponsor family.

Under the terms of the agreement, Nestlé Canada will be designated as the exclusive brand partner and supplier of Skate Canada for coffee and hot beverages, water, frozen prepared meals, breakfast drink and performance nutrition bar categories.

Nestlé has planned TV sponsorship and advertising, rinkboards, branded product placement, event sampling, online, and consumer promotions for this year’s Canadian Tire National Figure Skating Championships, which run from January 14-20, 2013 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ont., as well as for future Skate Canada events.

Skate Canada, the national governing body responsible for the development and administration of skating in Canada, is the largest figure skating association in the world. With over 5,000 registered coaches, skating programs for athletes of all ages are offered at nearly 1,300 skating clubs and schools across the country. Skate Canada is an association dedicated to providing every Canadian the opportunity to learn life skills while experiencing the power, strength and creativity of one of Canada's premier sports.

In 2012, Skate Canada produced two world champions, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir in ice dance and Patrick Chan in men’s. This is the first time Canada has produced two senior world champions since 1993.
