Nestlé Canada has been named one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2013 by Waterstone Human Capital, a leading executive search and professional recruitment firm. The award program, now in its eighth year, annually recognizes best-in-class Canadian organizations for having a culture that has helped them enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage.

“I’m delighted to receive this prestigious award on behalf of Nestlé Canada,” says Shelley Martin, President and CEO, Nestlé Canada. “I’m proud of our dedicated employees who work hard every day to fulfill our vision of helping Canadians live happier and healthier lives.”

Nestlé’s submission highlighted various strengths that contribute to a strong corporate culture. These include training and development programs, a tradition of community involvement, and unique Corporate Business Principles that identify key competencies and associated behaviours necessary to achieve targets and support individual development.

“Nestlé Canada is a leading food and beverage company that delivers value through its people,” says Martin. “We have the brightest and most committed team in the industry, and we continue to reinforce our core values of integrity, respect, collaboration, risk-taking and passion through everything we do. This award provides encouragement that we’re on the right track.”

Nestlé received recognition in the enterprise category, for organizations with revenues over $500 million. This is the first year Nestlé Canada has been included in the prestigious ranking.

Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures Program is presented by the executive search firm Waterstone Human Capital. Nominated organizations make a detailed submission to the program, based on five criteria: vision and leadership; cultural alignment, measurement, and sustainability; rewards, recognition, and innovative business achievement; corporate performance; and corporate social responsibility.

Of the more than 400 organizations nominated, 10 are selected in each of four categories: three are dedicated to private sector companies, based on differing levels of revenue, and one to the broader public sector.
