Nestlé CEO addresses UN Global Compact on ‘Climate Action and the Environment’

Nestlé CEO Paul Bulcke spoke at ‘Global Compact +15: Business as a Force for Good’ in New York on ‘Climate Action and the Environment’ and called for co-ordinated action by governments, companies and NGOs to address climate change and safeguard water resources.

Mr. Bulcke spoke at a session on June 25 in the UN General Assembly Hall, during a segment on ‘Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Corporate Sustainability’. You can read the transcript (pdf, 265Kb).

UN member states are expected to adopt the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in September. Mr. Bulcke emphasized the role of business in supporting the SDGs, discussed the impact of climate change and explained how Nestlé has integrated environmental sustainability as one of the foundations of its business.

Global Compact +15 brings together business, government and civil society to mark the 15th anniversary of the UN Global Compact, a voluntary initiative that now has over 8,300 member companies across 170 countries that work to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies.
