Each year, Nestlé Canada employees come together to raise funds and awareness for Kids Help Phone, through initiatives like the Kids Help Phone Golf Classic and the Walk So Kids Can Talk. So far this year Nestlé Canada has raised approximately $340,000 for this vital organization.
“Our relationship with Kids Help Phone is very important to us,” says Shelley Martin, President and CEO, Nestlé Canada. “At Nestlé Canada, we strive to help Canadian children lead healthy, happy and successful lives, and Kids Help Phone helps do this in a big way. The organization’s counsellors provide an outlet to every young person in Canada who can confidentially and safely call, e-mail and text the help line to discuss their concerns. Problems range from big to small, but knowing someone is there to listen can make a huge difference.”
Golfing for a great cause
On August 20, Nestlé Canada presented the 16th annual Kids Help Phone Golf Classic at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham. This event raised an incredible $250,000 thanks to the generous support of our suppliers, customers and employees.
Since its inception in 1997, the Nestlé-supported Golf Classic has helped raise over $3.5 million for Kids Help Phone.
Walking for a wonderful organization
The 2013 Walk So Kids Can Talk took place on Sunday, May 5 at 42 locations across the country. Through employee-driven fundraisers like an online auction, bingo and bake sales, Nestlé Canada raised over $89, 500 for Kids Help Phone.
