Nestlé Canada at the BIG on Bloor Festival

Jul 30, 2013
Nestlé Canada’s Sterling Road Factory in Toronto, part of the Bloordale community for over 125 years, was once again a big supporter of the BIG on Bloor Festival in Toronto’s Bloordale neighbourhood.

“As a longstanding community member, we’re thrilled to be a part of this fantastic festival that brings the neighbourhood together,” says Werner Dudler, Sterling Road Factory Manager. “Nestlé Canada aims to help enhance the communities in which we live and work, and taking part in the BIG on Bloor Festival is just one way of the many ways we’re doing this.”

Over 75,000 people attended this year’s Festival, filling the community’s streets throughout a beautiful July weekend. The BIG on Bloor Festival celebrates business, community, arts and culture through events, activities and exhibitions.

Some of these exciting events, activities and exhibitions included: the BIG Market Place, with more than 200 arts, crafts, vendors and information tables; major art installations, like one from the Robert Kanaaj Gallery; the BIG Awards, presented to outstanding citizens; games for children and adults; an outdoor film screening; and a main stage featuring performers like Andrew Cash, Alianaris, Rexdown, Wolara Drum and Dance, Teresa Hart and many more.

The weekend was a huge success, no doubt thanks to the more than 120 dedicated volunteers who were on hand all weekend working on setup, security and safety, site cleanliness and cleanup.

Nestlé Canada, one of the main event sponsors, participated in the festival by providing water and snack size Kit Kat, Coffee Crisp, Aero and Smarties, helping attendees hydrate and refresh throughout the day.
